Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes may have to unpick all his great work at Bournemouth if the Reds are to raid his old club....CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING.>>
Liverpool will be able to assess several of Bournemouth’s key men when the sides collide at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday in a huge Premier League clash. Hughes was the brains behind Bournemouth’s capture of Milos Kerkez for just £15million from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Kerkez’s value has rocketed this season because of his starring role for Bournemouth and the Hungary left-back has two goals and three assists. Kerkez, 21, will be in demand this summer and a new left-back will feature highly in Hughes’ long shopping list of targets because of Andy Robertson’s decline.
Bournemouth will value Kerkez in the £50million bracket because of his success and the one consolation is that Manchester United will be out of the running if they land Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. Antoine Semenyo is another one of Hughes’ finds and the Ghana forward cost just £10.5million from Bristol City two years ago.
Semenyo has bagged seven goals and added three assists this season and he is valued at £50million because he can play anywhere along the frontline. Much of what Hughes and Liverpool will do depends on the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and as it stands all three are set to leave in the summer when their contracts expire.

Semenyo, 25, would help plug the massive hole left in Liverpool’s attack if Salah did go and his versatility would appeal to head coach Arne Slot. Bournemouth centre-half Dean Huijsen is also attracting much attention and he cost just £12.8million from Juventus in the summer.
He was signed after Hughes left for Anfield, but at just 19 the Amsterdam-born Spanish Under-21 is earning rave reviews. He has already contributed two Premier League goals for Bournemouth and is only going to get better.
The trio are part of the backbone of Andoni Iraola’s side and they face Liverpool on the back of a 12-match unbeaten run. Their form over the last 11 Premier League games of that sequence matches Liverpool’s and they have taken 25 points from 33.
Bournemouth also recorded statement wins in their last two games, trouncing Newcastle 4-1 at St James’ Park before smashing Nottingham Forest 5-0 at the Vitality on Saturday. With the Champions League berths likely to go down to the top five, the Cherries are just a point outside those places and well on course to enjoy the best season in their 126-year history.

Their form could not be any hotter going into Saturday’s showdown and this will be a huge test of Liverpool’s title credentials. Slot left almost his entire first team on Merseyside for Wednesday’s final Champions League game in PSV Eindhoven and he will hope it was worth it on Saturday.
