In a statement titled “I Remain Steadfast in the Race,” Akpata described the claims as a “falsehood” and a fraudulent act orchestrated by those seeking to maintain their grip on power in the state.

Akpata emphasized that the allegations surfaced just before the election and were intended to deceive the public.

He criticized the creators of the rumors, pointing out their incompetence for including an incorrect date on their fraudulent document.

“This pathetic attempt at deception is so amateurish that it is laughable,” he remarked.

He reassured his supporters, stating that he remains committed to the race and urged the people of Edo State to disregard the rumors as desperate tactics by frightened opponents.

Akpata encouraged citizens to exercise their voting rights and remain steadfast in their quest for transformative leadership.

He concluded by promising to pursue legal action against those behind the misinformation, stating, “I will not rest until I uncover every individual involved in this criminal act, Justice will be served.”
