Hosts Morocco defeated defending champions, Egypt 2-1 to win their first-ever U23 African Cup Of Nations, AFCON, in Rabat, on Saturday.

The scoreline was 1-1 at halftime but a late second-half drama gave the Moroccans an upper hand ahead of their North African neighbours.

Super Eagles legend, Austin Jay Jay Okocha brought out the winners’ trophy.

With the result, Morocco, Egypt and third-place playoff winners, Mali, have qualified for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

Fourth-placed team, Guinea will play in the AFC–CAF playoff to decide the final Olympic slot.
