Motorists raise alarm over spate of kidnapping along Enugu-Abakaliki highway

The High level of kidnapping of innocent motorists along the Idodo axis of the Enugu-Abakaliki Express road is becoming worrisome and alarming.

Motorists plying the highway, have called on the Ebonyi and Enugu State governments to beef up adequate security on the ever-busy road.

Recently, a Staff of Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, was kidnapped and the family and friends raised N4 million to secure his release according to a report.

DAILY POST gathered that a woman who resides at No 10 Bende Street, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki, the state capital is currently being held by kidnappers.

The Enugu State Governor alongside security agencies must work towards stopping the unfortunate incident along that road, former Enugu Governor lfeanyi Ugwuanyi did it along Nsukka Opi road and we believe Mbah can do the same, the motorists said.
