Names of five PDP governors, who are against Damagum’s removal as PDP national chairman

It was reported that Damagum, who was previously the PDP’s National Deputy Chairman (North), became the acting National Chairman after the court suspended the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Umar Damagum, from Yobe State in the North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria, is thought to be a close ally of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to The Nation, it was made known that five Governors in the party, are against the removal of Damagum from office as the party’s National Chairman.

Their names were given as Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State; Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State; Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.
