Lawal said Senator Usman is registered with the party from the ward and has been the backbone of the party in the ward and the state.

In a press conference on Monday, at Fada, Polling Unit 6, in Jere, Kaduna State, Lawal dismissed the allegations as malicious and politically motivated.
His words: “I am Mr. Hussaini Lawal, the chairman and executive member of the Labour Party in Jere South ward, called for this press conference.
“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the press. We have called this press conference today to address and clarify misleading reports circulating about the membership status of distinguished Senator Nenadi Esther Usman in our great party, the Labour Party.
“Let it be known to all Nigerians that Senator Nenadi Esther Usman is a fully registered and bona fide member of the Labour Party in Jere South ward. With her polling units clearly documented at polling unit 006 on Gampada, Kagarko, Jere South ward.
“Any claim or suggestion, otherwise, is false, malicious and politically motivated. We have her membership records and we stand firmly by this fact.
“Senator Nenadi Esther Usman is not just a member. She has been a backbone to the activities of our great party, Labour Party, not in Jere South ward and Kaduna State, but across the nation.
“Her wealth of experience, leadership and contribution to the growth of the Labour Party cannot be overstated. We are immensely proud of her achievement as a former commissioner in Kaduna State, former Minister of Finance of the Republic of Nigeria and a distinguished senator who represented Kaduna South District.”
