Nigerian Army eliminates 177 terrorists, recovers weapons

According to report from Daily Post.The Nigerian Army has announced the recovery of a significant cache of ammunition and the neutralization of 177 terrorists during various operations across the country. According to a statement by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the troops also apprehended 263 terrorists and arrested 41 oil theft perpetrators.

The statement revealed that the troops rescued 158 kidnapped hostages and recovered 170 assorted weapons, including AK-47 rifles, PKT guns, and locally fabricated guns. Additionally, 4,692 assorted ammunition and materials, including RPG bombs and IEDs, were seized.

The army’s operations demonstrate their continued efforts to combat terrorism and criminal activities in Nigeria, ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

In Gen. Edward Buba’s own words, “During the week, troops neutralised 177 and arrested 263 persons.

“Troops also arrested 41 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 158 kidnapped hostages.”

Buba explained that the troops recovered 170 assorted weapons and 4,692 assorted ammunition.

He gave a breakdown of the weapons recovered as six PKT guns, 63 AK-47 rifles, three FN rifles, one SMG rifle, 29 locally fabricated guns, 37 dane guns, 20 pump action guns, one short double barrel gun, two double barrel guns, two single barrel guns, one locally made single barrel, six locally fabricated pistols, four bandoliers, RPG bombs, RPG charger, two primed IEDs and materials
