NLC Blames RMAFC for Public Officials’ Salary Mismanagement

In his statement, Shehu broke down the components of this amount, including a basic salary of ₦168,866.70, and various allowances for vehicle maintenance, personal assistance, domestic staff, and other expenses.

However, Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila (Kano South), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, disclosed on BBC Hausa Service that he earns ₦21 million monthly in allowances alone, in addition to a salary of about ₦1 million. Sumaila noted that his salary, set by RMAFC, is significantly lower after deductions, and claimed that the substantial monthly allowance is used as running costs for senators.
