This decision comes as the association seeks to take advantage of the competitive market created by the removal of fuel subsidies and the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

According to IPMAN’s National Publicity Secretary, Ukadike Chinedu, the association will prioritize affordability and opt for the cheaper option.

According to Punch Newspaper, He cited the diesel market as an example, where competition led to a significant price drop from N1,600 to N950-N1,100 per liter.

IPMAN’s National Operations Controller, Mustapha Zarma, confirmed that the association will soon contact Dangote Refinery to analyze its pricing and determine the best option.

Zarma emphasized that competition will prevent any price monopoly, ensuring a sustainable supply of petrol and fair prices for consumers.
