CAN accused the administration of failing to address worsening economic conditions and security issues, instead of allegedly attempting to suppress the protests through inducements to religious and traditional leaders.

In a statement, CAN urged President Bola Tinubu’s government to focus on concrete solutions rather than cosmetic measures and warned that history might repeat itself, referencing the 2012 “Occupy Nigeria” protest.

The group denounced attempts to politicize the protests, emphasizing that hunger and economic distress affect all Nigerians equally.

CAN also called for government accountability, improvement in living conditions, and continued prayer for national stability.
