NSCDC confirms murder of middle-aged man in Osun

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has confirmed the shooting to death of 42 year old Delete Agboola.

According to Kehinde Adeleke, its spokesperson on Friday, Agboola was gunned down in Ada town in Boripe local government area of the state on Thursday night.

According to Adeleke, “The incident was reported to the command.

“Mr Dele Agboola, resident of Ada town, popularly known as ‘AGBO’ was shot dead by unknown person(s) at about 20:40 hours on September 14, 2023.”

DAILY POST gathered that the late Agboola was shot to death by three men disguised as customers.

It was learnt that they pretended to purchase medicine at his wife’s shop located in Pako Area of the town.

An eyewitness and resident of the area who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that that the gunmen were believed to be three in number and arrived when the deceased had even left the shop and went inside his residence.

In her words, “But a few minutes after he retired inside, Dele (Agboola) came out into the shop again to pick up his mobile phone charger. He was about to leave the shop again when three men approached him and asked if he was Dele Agboola, and he told them he was the person bearing the name.

“Immediately he confirmed his identity, the men shot him. Those that attacked him were three in number. They fled the area and people ran in different directions to avoid being attacked. The incident happened around 8:40pm Thursday at Pako Area.”

She also disclosed that security personnel were prevented from taking his remains away for autopsy by the deceased’s relatives.

“He was buried on Friday around 8:30am,” she concluded.
