The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has criticised a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Segun Sowunmi, over his letter to Nuhu Ribadu.

Sowunmi reported Governor Dapo Abiodun to the Special Adviser on Security to President Bola Tinubu after he was attacked in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The PDP member alleged that APC members targeted him at the premises of Ogun State High Court in Isabo, the venue of the Election Petitions Tribunal.

A statement on Saturday by APC Assistant Publicity Secretary Olusola Ogunsanya described Sowunmi as “a man with deflated ego, but seeking relevance to stay afloat”.

Ogunsanya said the former spokesperson of the Atiku Campaign Organization was not attacked by APC loyalists but humiliated by aggrieved PDP members.

He lambasted Sowunmi for trying to blame Abiodun, “who has settled down squarely with the business of government after his unassailable victory at the polls”.

The Ogun APC spokesperson declared that Sowunmi “in his warped congratulatory message was only being clever by half”.

“Is not preposterous that this same PDP chieftain whose party has challenged the victory of Ribadu’s APC in court at the federal and state levels was quick to accept the appointment made by the same party?

Ogunsanya said the “rabble rousing must stop”, accusing Sowunmi of “blabbing for cash” because he “extremely enjoys listening to his own voice”.

“APC is vindicated as a duly elected government by Sowunmi’s congratulatory message. The attempt to no cultivate Ribadu is only intriguing,” the statement added.
