Although we have maids, she expects me to do all the house chores. She even pulls my ears so hard, as if I were one of her mates. When my husband traveled, she made me starve at home. She brought another woman into the house, claiming that she was the one who was supposed to marry her son. She told me she would never give me her blessings as my mother-in-law.
During my husband’s absence, I couldn’t cope with the drama at home anymore. I packed my things and went back to my parents’ house. I informed my husband about the bad treatment his mom was giving me. He begged me to stay calm, which I did. However, when he returned, the same thing happened right in front of him. His mom slapped me for no reason, and I couldn’t help it—I slapped her back. My husband was furious seeing the whole drama unfold, but the worst part was when his mother immediately fell and had to be rushed to the hospital.
A whole lot is happening in this house. My husband is well-to-do, so I don’t understand why he doesn’t want us to move out and get a house of our own to end all this drama. I’m so sick and tired of it all. I want to divorce him for good, but I need advice because I can’t let his mother kill me.
