According to Muhammad Zakari, head of Press and PR at the ministry, Onyekachi’s appointment aims to enhance the Council’s efficiency and management. The CRFFN has been facing a crisis of confidence and financial instability, resulting in unpaid salaries since January. The Minister intervened to arrange a bailout loan for these payments.

Onyekachi, 44, holds a master’s degree in Transportation and Logistics and is a registered member of the CRFFN, hailing from Imo State in Southeast Nigeria.
