He alleged that certain APC-backed individuals were working to create internal disputes within the PDP and subject its officials to intimidation, threats, and police harassment.
“The PDP is shocked by the level of desperation being exhibited by these individuals, reportedly supported by a top official within the APC administration. This individual has, on numerous occasions, vowed to destroy the PDP to pave the way for a totalitarian and oppressive one-party system,” Ologunagba stated.
He further criticized the alleged involvement of the police and a magistrate court in Abuja in what he called an unlawful interference in party affairs. The PDP cited Supreme Court rulings affirming that matters concerning candidate nominations are internal party affairs and should not be subjected to external judicial intervention.
Despite these challenges, the PDP reaffirmed its resilience, vowing to resist any attempts to weaken opposition voices and undermine democracy
“The PDP remains strong and undeterred. We will continue to stand against any anti-democratic forces seeking to emasculate opposition and impose an oppressive regime on Nigerians,” Ologunagba declared.
The party urged its members and supporters to disregard the forgery allegations, emphasizing its commitment to transparency and due process in all internal affairs.
