The forum also utilized the occasion to examine member nations’ performance, notably the state of the nation as a whole, as well as party developments as of the end of 2024. It recognized the massive socioeconomic, security, infrastructure, and other issues that the country faced during that time.
It praised the governors of the member states for adopting policies and programmes that improved people’s lives and attempted to lay the groundwork for long-term growth in their individual states.
The conference also underlined that the federal government’s macroeconomic policies have caused difficulty and suffering in the political system, and it urged the federal government to reconsider or restructure its macroeconomic policies in order to alleviate or eliminate the hardship and pain inflicted on Nigerians.
According to the meeting, no substantial and significant state achievements will be possible unless severe policies are addressed.
It praised the continued efforts to resolve the impasse in the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) over the position of the National Secretary and reiterated its support for the Court of Appeal decision. It did, however, instruct the NWC to establish the apparatus necessary to successfully implement the court judgment.
The conference praised the country’s valiant and patriotic Armed Forces and Security Agencies for remaining on the front lines in securing the country, as well as the victories of our brave personnel against bandits in various parts of the country.
However, it expressed grave concern over the rise of brazen non-state actors and asked for the bolstering of the country’s security infrastructure. It thanked the host, Gov. Oborevwori, and the people of Delta for their hospitality and warm demeanor, which resulted in a successful, well-structured, and meaningful meeting.
It also praised Oborevwori’s administration’s monumental achievements in infrastructure, environmental cleanup, people empowerment, and battling insecurity.
Notwithstanding the current difficulties, Nigerians remain optimistic. The PDP is dedicated to restoring our wonderful country to the heyday of the pre-2015 era, when living expenses were reasonable, people and property were safe, and everyone lived in greater unity and wealth, the statement said. The Acting National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, was also present.
