In his tweet, Obi clarified that the Obidient Movement is not tied to the Labour Party, emphasizing that its members could align with any political party while still advocating for change in Nigeria. His remarks have since ignited fears of fragmentation within the movement.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Reacting to the statement, Oswald expressed disappointment, stating that Obi should have consulted with key figures before making such a declaration. “I wish he had taken a moment to seek advice before putting out that statement,” Oswald remarked. “Now, it has given members the impression that they can freely switch parties, which is already causing division.”
Oswald further pointed out that Obi’s remarks have unintentionally weakened the unity of the movement. “Many who once stood firm with us are now using Obi’s words as an excuse to defect,” he said. “The Obidient Movement, which was once a powerful voice for change, is now struggling to maintain its influence.”
He also attributed part of the crisis to a lack of communication within the leadership. “Had Obi engaged with key stakeholders like Barrister Julius Abure, this situation could have been avoided,” Oswald noted.
Despite the turmoil, Oswald praised Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure for his resilience in the face of internal challenges. “Abure has held the party together through difficult times. Under his leadership, the LP is growing stronger, even as some members try to weaken it,” he asserte
