Additionally, three members of the robbery gang were arrested while six others escaped with bullet wounds, according to Sharif Saad, the command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer.

Saad, in a statement, said the command’s control room was alerted to a gang of armed robbers who had invaded a house in the Arawa Quarters of the Gombe metropolis.

The suspects reportedly invaded the residence of Alhaji Gidado Muhammad Sani, shooting sporadically and robbing the occupants of the house of their valuables.

They also inflicted multiple injuries on the security man, Mohammed Abdullahi.

But in a swift response to the distress call, the command mobilised the tactical team of Operation 999 to the scene.

“On sighting the operatives, the armed robbers engaged them in a gun duel where one of them, Albaru of Kumbiya Kumbiya Quarters, was neutralised, while Adamu Usman, alias Bali, 22, of Barunde Quarters, Mustapha Abdullahi, alias Jammaye, 22, of Malam Inna, and Abdullahi Hussaini, alias Danbasi, 21, of Anguwa Uku, were arrested. Six others are on the run with suspected bullet wounds,” the statement informed.
