Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele emphasized that if the PDP is serious about securing a victory in the upcoming election, it must persuade former president Goodluck Jonathan to run.
The cleric’s message is clear: Atiku is not the solution for the party’s revival, and allowing him to contest again would be the “final burial” of the PDP.
“PDP needs to realize that Atiku does not have what it takes to remove Tinubu from office,” Ayodele stated.
“If they want to near victory, they should persuade Goodluck Jonathan to contest under the party to wake them from their slumber. Atiku will not be an answer to PDP and if he comes out to contest again, it will be the final burial of PDP.”
Ayodele further advised Atiku to step aside and support a more viable candidate, stressing that Jonathan is the best option for the party if it hopes to have any chance of success in 2027.
He suggested that Jonathan could form an alliance with former Senate President Bukola Saraki, along with a coalition of opposition parties, to strengthen their chances of winning the presidential race.
“I can only advise Atiku to support a good candidate and the best option for PDP now is Goodluck Jonathan,” the prophet continued.
“I said he shouldn’t contest before but as it stands, he is the only one who can assist PDP from its final burial. If he can join forces with Saraki, together with a coalition of opposition parties, PDP has chances at victory.”
However, Ayodele revealed that Jonathan has expressed doubts about his ability to win the election, and he urged the PDP to provide him with the necessary support to overcome his fears and agree to contest.
“Jonathan is scared and in doubt of his capacity,” the cleric noted. “PDP must offer him the support he needs to agree to run, as he remains the best hope for the party in 2027.”
