Speaking during the combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) at the university’s main campus, Tinubu emphasized the importance of contributing to the country’s growth.

He advised graduates to refrain from hastily seeking opportunities abroad and encouraged universities to engage in innovative research that supports national advancement.

He highlighted education as a fundamental element of national progress, stressing that it should be both adaptive and transformative.

The President pointed out that the government has made substantial investments in education, equipping graduates to play significant roles in society. As they transition into the workforce, he urged them to become catalysts for positive change, using their talents to elevate the nation.

Tinubu concluded by urging graduates to resist the allure of seeking greener pastures overseas and instead work collectively to cultivate a prosperous environment in Nigeria.

He said, “Education is the cornerstone of national development and it must be both responsive and transformative for progress to occur.

The government has invested significantly in your education, equipping you to make meaningful contributions to society. As you step into the world, I urge you to be agents of positive change, using your skills to uplift our society and contribute to Nigeria’s growth and global development.
