Releasing Nnamdi Kanu Will Reduce Crime In South-East By 50%. Fayose has urged President Bola Tinubu

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has urged President Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), according to DAILY POST.

Fayose made this call in a video posted on his Instagram handle.

Fayose suggested that releasing Kanu would help Tinubu secure more votes from the Southeast in the 2027 elections.

Fayose compared this situation to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s approach with Niger Delta militant leader Tompolo.

Fayose argued that releasing Kanu would largely reduce government spending on security in the Southeast.

His call comes amid ongoing appeals by Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and other Nigerians for Tinubu to release Kanu.

They believe that releasing Kanu would help in reducing the level of insecurity in the Southeast.

Fayose also shared his strategy if he were in Tinubu’s position.

“Releasing Nnamdi Kanu will reduce crime in the South-East by 50%. And APC will get more votes in 2027.“

“If President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan can give a contract to Tompolo to have peace in the Niger Delta, why can’t we do the same in the South-East?”

“If we are spending so much money on security in the Southeast, the money will be reduced by 50% releasing Kanu.”

“If I were president Tinubu, after the election, when I noticed that the Southeast people didn’t vote for me, I would have released Kanu to counter them; releasing Kanu can make some of them say, oh this man has a good intention,” he said.
