Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Visibly annoyed, Sani accused Wike of deliberately speaking last at events to avoid rebuttals. “Wike is my good friend. I would have preferred to respond to him at an event rather than on TV. I have attended two events where he strategically positioned himself to speak last and ensured no one could reply to him. But I believe that when the opportunity arises, I will address his comments directly,” Sani stated.
He further defended his and others’ efforts in dismantling military dictatorship in Nigeria, asserting that Wike and others in political office today are beneficiaries of their struggles. “If not for our efforts to end military dictatorship in Nigeria, people like Wike wouldn’t have been able to serve as Local Government chairman, governor, or minister. He is a beneficiary of our struggles and sacrifices.”
Recalling his time in Port Harcourt Prison as a political prisoner, Sani questioned Wike’s contributions during that period. “Where was he when I was serving a prison term for political reasons?”
Sani also addressed the perception that Wike’s comments were specifically targeting him. He clarified that Wike was speaking about the Senate’s overall impact on democracy and emphasized that he did not take the remarks personally.
Disclosing what he would do, Sani vowed to ensure that Wike does not speak last at an event both of them will be pesent so that he (Sani) will give Wike a direct response. Sani said, “Next time we attend an event, since I know his tactic of speaking last, it won’t happen again. He will certainly get a response,” Sani concluded.
