Òjó/Aina is a child born with nuchal cord on her neck in Yorùbá culture.

These babies are special kids. Male child is called òjó while female child is called Aina.
The baby has special eulogy that parents used to praise them when they are angry to calm their nerves or to show the kids that they are proud of them.

Aroko fẹ́yẹjẹ
Òjó kòsí nílé ọmọ adirẹ dàgbà
Bí Ojo báwà nílé ati pàyá rẹ jẹ
Òjó a bá adirẹ saba lórí ẹyin.
Òjó tó jà lọ́jà to dele tó kọyán
Òjó ko wí fún ará ilé pé òhun jà l’ọja

Ẹni Òjó bamu tirẹ lo s’orire.
TRANSLATION
Òjó olúkùlóyè
The one that farm for the birds
Òjó was not at home, the chicks grow
If Òjó was at home, he would have kill their mother (hen)
Òjó, the one that follow hen hatch its eggs.
Òjó fought at the market and came home to prepare pounded yam
He did not tell anyone what happened at the market
Òjó Alakatakiti
He killed neighbor’s hen
The owner of hen was weeping
Òjó was grinding the pepper to cook the hen
Òjó was rejoicing.
Òjó, the handsome man
Ojo was bathing at the river, ladies were admiring his handsomeness
They were praying that Òjó pick them
Anyone that Òjó picked is a lucky lady.
