Tension: Ceasefire Collapses as Israel Orders New Strikes After Accusing Iran of Missile Attack

Just hours after a ceasefire agreement was announced between Israel and Iran—brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump—Israel has resumed military strikes, claiming Iran breached the deal by launching missiles. This development threatens to reignite the conflict Trump had referred to as the “12 Day War.”

On Tuesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to carry out heavy strikes against Iranian government targets in central Tehran. The move came after Israel accused Iran of firing missiles into northern Israel around 3:30 a.m. ET, prompting air raid sirens. Although both countries had exchanged attacks shortly before the ceasefire was officially acknowledged, Israeli officials told the Associated Press that two more Iranian missiles were intercepted after the truce had already begun.
