In a bid to ensure a fair and secure environment, the IGP has barred quasi-security organizations, including the state-backed Vigilante Corps and Amotekun, from participating in election security operations.

The Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with other federal security agencies, remains committed, vigilant, and fully prepared to ensure that the Ondo State Gubernatorial Election proceeds smoothly, without incident, and in accordance with the highest standards of electoral integrity,” Egbetokun stated.
To achieve this goal, the NPF has deployed personnel from various specialized units, including the Special Intervention Squad, Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Special Protection Unit, and others, with strict adherence to the principles of transparency and order.
