Ganduje in a statement issued Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, said mischief makers were behind the campaign posters.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is contesting for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to categorically state that this is the work of mischief-makers, likely in collaboration with certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, who are determined to create disaffection between Dr. Ganduje and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Jonathan expected at Dr Usman Book Launch
Vice-President Kashim Shetima, former President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are expected to attend the launch of a book co-authored by former Minister of Finance, Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman.
Shettima is to be the Special Guest of Honour; while Jonathan will Chair of the Occasion.
The book for launch on September 26 in Abuja is titled “Public Policy and Agent Interests: Perspectives from the Emerging World.”
The event will also witness the formal unveiling of the Shamsuddeen Usman Foundation (SUF) founded and registered by his children in his honour and dedicated to the promotion of education in the country.
ECOWAS Court, UNHCR Move To Protect Refugees, Stateless Persons
The Community Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS Court) has mapped out strategies in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to protect refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and stateless people within West Africa.
A high-level meeting was held between the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) delegation, led by Mr. Raouf Mazou, and the ECOWAS Community Court at their corporate headquarters Friday in Abuja.
Other members of the UNHCR delegation included Ms. Ruvendrini Menikdiwela, assistant High Commissioner in charge of protection, Abdouraouf GNON-KONDE, regional director for West and Central Africa, Herve KUATE, UNHCR senior advisor in charge of liason with ECOWAS and ECCAS , Abuja, Lara SCHOLTERBECK, and Joan Ogu.
The UNHCR aims to ensure that every individual has the right to seek asylum and find a safe haven when fleeing violence, persecution, or war in their home country.
The meeting emphasised the mutual desire of both institutions to enhance their joint efforts towards safeguarding refugees and stateless persons in the community area. Presently, there are approximately 7,337,979 forcibly displaced people triggered by conflicts, violence, and disasters in the ECOWAS Region, comprising of 6,526,928 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and 811,051 refugees and asylum seekers.
Opposition Lawmakers Accuse PDP Leaders Of Sabotage In Rivers
Opposition Lawmakers Coalition has leveled accusations against top leaders of the PDP, claiming they were undermining the party’s interests in Rivers State.
The coalition spoke under the umbrella of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).
During a press conference in Abuja, the coalition’s spokesman, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives, outlined what he described as a “calculated attempt” by PDP leaders to weaken the PDP from within.
The controversy centers around an ongoing legal battle involving 27 former PDP members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in December 2023.
According to Ugochinyere, the PDP leadership’s actions are directly opposing efforts by the party’s National Legal Adviser to protect PDP interests in court.
