Man United have agreed a £43.9 million deal with Inter Milan for Onana’s signature.
Onana will become Man United’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55 million earlier this month.
His arrival will take Man United’s spending to £100 million this summer, meaning Man United manager Erik ten Hag will have just £20 million left to sign a striker.
After pulling out of the race to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane because the England captain was deemed too expensive, Man United identified Hojlund as their first choice.
But the Red Devils will have to sell some of their players to raise funds to bid for Hojlund, as Ten Hag considers the youngster a vital next move in his Old Trafford overhaul.
However, Man United’s interest in Hojlund has got Onana’s approval, judging from his recent social media activity.
The former Ajax goalkeeper ‘liked’ a post on Instagram that claimed Man United will now submit a bid for Hojlund after agreeing personal terms with the player.
