The Senegalese international has left Chelsea, signing a lucrative contract with Saudi Pro League club, Al Ahli on Wednesday.

He then took to social media to thank ex-owner, Abramovich and a number of ex-staff members, rather than new American owner Todd Boehly.

“I want to sincerely thank Roman, Marina (Granovskaia), Petr (Cech), Christophe (Lollichon, a former Chelsea goalkeeping coach), and the entire staff who made it possible for me to represent this prestigious club,” the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner said.

He went on to thank his former teammates and fans of the west London outfit for their support throughout his time at Chelsea.

“Although it’s time for me to turn a new page…” the Senegalese said.
