Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is facing a near impossible task in his bid to sign a world-class striker.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Dutchman now has just £65m of their transfer budget left.

The Red Devils have agreed an initial £55million move for Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount, which includes £5m in add-ons.

However, the club’s budget is fairly tight this summer window, especially with their takeover saga playing out in the background.

This has left Ten Hag with just £65m to spend on a new striker and it is understood that this is “nowhere near enough” to appease the former Ajax boss.
