Manchester United have decided to pull out of the race to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Erik ten Hag’s side had considered tabling a bid for Caicedo, having been ready to abandon interest in Chelsea’s Mason Mount after seeing two bids rejected earlier this month.
However, a breakthrough finally came on Thursday with Man United agreeing to pay an initial £55 million and an additional £5 million, depending on Mount’s appearances and the success of the team.
Mount is understood to have agreed a five-year contract to join Man United, with an option for a further year.
Agreeing on a deal for Mount helps bolster the Red Devils’ options in a key midfield area.
And according to The Athletic, Mount’s impending arrival at Old Trafford means Man United will abandon any interest in Caicedo, who now looks destined to move to Chelsea.
