There may have been disappointment at Camp Nou after Messi opted for Inter Miami instead of a return to Barcelona.

However, according to El Nacional, the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ansu Fati, and Ousmane Dembele are pleased with Messi’s decision not to return to the club this summer.

Having shared an unrestrained relationship with Messi during their time together at Barcelona, Ter Stegen has not shied away from admitting their discord.

When penning down his tribute following Messi’s exit from Barca back in 2021, the Germany keeper wrote, “Although from time to time we do not share the same opinion, we always went in the same direction and each of us grew as a person beyond winning or losing.”

It is believed that murmurs of Messi’s potential comeback led to concerns that past disagreements could potentially jeopardize his place in the Barcelona team.

Because of this, the news of Messi’s final decision to join Inter Miami instead of the Catalan club reportedly came as a wave of relief.

But Ter Stegen was not alone, as Fati and Dembele reportedly also found comfort in the confirmation that the Argentina World Cup winner would not return to the Blaugrana.

Recall that after Messi played his last game for Paris Saint-Germain a few days ago.

The 35-year-old decided to join Inter Miami despite interest from Barcelona to re-sign him this summer.
