According to journalist Giacomo Lacobellis, the midfielder had Barcelona as his Plan ‘A’ for the summer but decided against the move because he wanted to play more football.

Brozovic is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. The move, though, did come smoothly as the Saudi side reduced their initial offer of €23 million to €15 million.

However, the two parties have agreed on a fee of €18 million eventually.

Barcelona were also interested in signing the midfielder this summer as a replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Inter wanted to sign the Croatia international from Inter Milan but the player thought he might not have been an undisputed starter in Xavi’s team, so he opted to accept the lucrative offer from the SPL.

The Croat played 40 games for Inter Milan last season, helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final.
