According to the statement, on December 1, 2024, troops stationed at the Pupule checkpoint in Yoro Local Government Area (LGA) apprehended Usman Abubakar, a notorious kidnapping suspect linked to the murder of Alhaji Abba Buba and the abduction of three individuals from Manzala Village.

Using the intelligence gathered, the troops tracked and raided the suspects’ hideout in Manzala Village, where they arrested several key members of the criminal network and dismantled their operations.
On December 2, 2024, acting on further intelligence, troops intercepted two other suspects, Musa Mohammadu and Dahiru Abdul, who had kidnapped and assaulted Mr. Yaya Kunini along the Maraban Apawa-Zing road. The victim was rescued unharmed and has been reunited with his family.
In a separate operation on the same day, troops at Lankaviri recovered a stolen red Toyota vehicle, which had been taken from the Patient Event Center in Jalingo. The vehicle, with the registration number KRM-132-AA, was found abandoned along the Lankaviri-Jimlari-Maraban Zing road with a flat tire. The vehicle was later returned to its rightful owner, Miss Freedah Ibrahim of Jalingo.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their vigilance and swift actions in dismantling the criminal networks and ensuring the safety of the public. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to ridding Taraba State of criminal elements and urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations in the region.
