Opposition Leader Yair Lapid responded Thursday morning to U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s remarks calling for the cancellation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial, stating that while Israel appreciates the president’s support, he should not interfere in Israel’s legal affairs.
In an interview with Ynet, Lapid said, “We are grateful to President Trump, but as MK Simcha Rothman said – the president should not interfere in a legal process in an independent country.”
