In a video recently shared by Symfoni TV, Okonkwo said when he was in London, he heard reports of Tinubu coming out of a hospital, specifically St Mary’s hospital. Okonkwo said instead of openly informing Nigerians that the president went for medical treatment, the media made the public believe that Tinubu was enjoying himself abroad while serious issues, such as the recent boat mishap that claimed over 150 lives, were happening in Nigeria. Okonkwo argued that by not telling the public the truth about Tinubu’s health, the media has created a false impression that the president is not bothered about the country’s present challenges.
