Initially hesitant about writing a memoir, Babangida once questioned whether Nigerians would want to read about a “dictator.” However, he ultimately changed his stance, promising a candid account of his life and leadership, addressing both the successes and controversies of his rule from 1985 to 1993.

The autobiography’s launch will coincide with a fundraising event for the IBB Presidential Library. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair the occasion, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as the special guest of honor. The keynote address will be delivered by former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, with former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo set to review the book.

Dignitaries expected at the event include former Nigerian presidents Muhammadu Buhari, Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Goodluck Jonathan. Other prominent figures, such as former Defense Minister Theophilus Danjuma and Chairman of BUA Group Abdul Samad Rabiu, will serve as Chief Launchers.
