According to Vanguard, Speaking in Ibadan during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde over the passing of his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, Wike stressed that the policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration are geared towards ensuring long-term national progress.

Nigerians often forget where we were and the efforts being put in place to improve our situation.”
Accompanied by former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and other dignitaries, Wike acknowledged the hardship many Nigerians are currently experiencing but emphasized that such sacrifices are necessary for sustainable development.
“There is no such thing as a miracle solution,” he noted. “The policies Mr. President is enacting are designed to benefit all Nigerians. Although we may have to endure some hardships now, we should not panic. Mr. President genuinely cares for our country, and I assure you that better days are ahead.”
Wike also used the opportunity to console the Makinde family during their time of grief. Extending his heartfelt sympathies, he highlighted the importance of unity and support in moments of loss.
“In this moment of profound loss, we are here to offer our love and solidarity,” he said. “You are not alone in your sorrow, and we stand by you in this difficult period.”
His remarks come as Nigerians grapple with economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and other policy adjustments aimed at revamping the economy. Wike’s assurance of better days ahead reflects the government’s push to foster public confidence despite current hardships.
