Jonathan Pays Condolence Visit to the Yar’Adua Family

During a condolence visit to the Yar’Adua family in Katsina on Saturday, Jonathan shared his feelings on the loss, emphasizing that her late son, who selected him as a running mate, was the reason for his rise to prominence. He regarded her as a mother figure, saying, “Without this lady, you wouldn’t have known my name.”

Recalling His Immediate Reaction to the News Jonathan revealed he was en route to Kigali, Rwanda, when he learned of her death. Upon returning to Nigeria on Friday, he felt it was important to personally visit Katsina to pay his respects. “It is a very sad moment for all of us,” he said.

On behalf of himself, his team, and his community, Jonathan extended heartfelt condolences to the Yar’Adua family and the people of Katsina State.
