In a video released by TVC, Kalu shared that he has abandoned the luxury of his private jet and is now opting for commercial flights. This decision aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s recent directive urging ministers to adopt more fiscally responsible behaviors.

Kalu explained that he is also taking steps to reduce household expenses by turning off unused lights and air conditioners in an effort to conserve both fuel and electricity.

His commitment to fiscal responsibility extends beyond personal convenience; he emphasized the importance of citizens managing their resources effectively.

“I have ditched my private jet and am not using it anymore; I am flying commercial planes and turning off the lights in my house,” Kalu stated.

Furthermore, Kalu revealed that he has limited his vehicle usage as per President Tinubu’s instruction for ministers to use only three cars for official duties.

He mentioned reducing assistance staff as well: “When it wasn’t absolutely essential, I told a few of my assistants to stop following me.
