The deceased as reliably gathered lost control of the vehicle at Agbowo end of Iwo road/Ojoo expressway and rammed into other trucks thereby resulting in a multiple accident.

An eyewitness account stated that the driver of one of the affected trucks lost control of the vehicle and rammed into others.
It was a deafening noise. Initially, it was mistaken for a bomb explosion before we later discovered it was tanker explosion.
Some residents in the area alerted men of the Fire Services to prevent the fire from spreading to the houses in the neighborhood.
I couldn’t confirm whether any of the drivers was killed but what I know is that the affected trucks have been destroyed by fire.
Confirming the incident, the Director of Operation, State Fire Services, Engr. I.A. Adeleke said that unfortunate incident was reported at exactly 02::45hrs on Wednesday 22nd January 2025 in front of Honourable Fijabi House, Agbowo, Ojoo/ Iwo Road, Expressway, Ibadan.
According to him, “We swiftly swung into action and we made a fire cover by applying chemical compound and curtailed the fire from spreading to the nearby residential area.
The driver of the tanker was recovered while the motor boy was rescued alive from the fire by the fire officer and conveyed to the UCH for medical treatment.
The Petrol tanker was destroyed by devastating fire, the other two trucks and vehicles’ spare parts inside were saved by the Agency’s personnel.
The accident was as a result of a trailer tanker carrying PMS losing control whilst on motion and hitting other two trucks in front.
