According to Abba Kabir Yusuf, governor of Kano state, the destruction of property and other goods was appalling and has a significant influence on the courts’ capacity to administer justice properly.

According to Abba Kabir Yusuf’s verified Twitter profile, the executive governor of Kano state was visited the Kano State Judiciary Complex on August 1, which was vandalised by a hired mob. It was part of his assessment trips. Members of the judiciary, including Abdullahi Ado Bayero, who is the chief registrar of the Kano State High Court, showed me around during my visit.

The careless destruction of property and assets was disturbing to witness, he continued, and it has a major bearing on the courts’ capacity to administer justice effectively. Nonetheless, we will not rest until we restore it and elevate its standing to a level that is more appropriate.

The remnants of this sad incident will not be allowed to remain for much longer.
